Brian L. Robinson Brian Robinson is cofounder and principal of Terrain Consulting, Inc., a land use and natural resources public relations firm located in Santa Barbara, California. Terrain was founded in 2003, when Mr. Robinson and Jim Youngson had a vision of offering consulting services that focus on "win-win" outcomes that benefit both client and community, resulting in an improved quality of life. The diverse assemblage of clients includes local developers, business organizations and advocacy groups, Caltrans, the National Park Service and The Nature Conservancy. Mr. Robinson specializes in public involvement initiatives, strategic communications, and government relations. His leadership in managing local political campaigns, within the Santa Barbara area, has earned him the reputation as a critical element for those seeking elected office. The depth of his understanding of the political environment is reflected by the dozens of clients that have or are currently holding elected positions in the local, state, and federal branches of government. After cutting his teeth working as a consultant for local, state and federal political campaigns as well as private sector public affairs and marketing projects, Brian joined TynanGroup, Inc. in 2001 - a real estate development services company - where he worked as the Senior Project Manager for their Public Affairs Division, managing all aspects of client projects. His experience and knowledge of local and state issues assisted in making TynanGroup projects successful and added value to all their clients. Throughout his career Mr. Robinson has represented a wide variety of clients including local governments and agencies, private sector developers, non-profit organizations. Those clients have had a wide variety issues that require public involvement and understanding. Mr. Robinson holds a Bachelors Degree in Geography from the University of California at Santa Barbara, focusing on Coastal Zone Management and Smart Growth land use issues. He has lived in Santa Barbara for over 17 years and lends his expertise and insight for many community organizations and non-profit efforts. |
